World Earth Day-Beach Cleanup

April 22nd marks World Earth Day, and the Taipei World Trade Center and TICC took practical action to respond via the 2023 Embrace the Ocean with Love, Corporate Beach Cleanup GO! event organized by the Fuzhi Cultural and Educational Foundation. Together, they continue the spirit of cleaning the oceans and promoting sustainable resources.

On that day, a total of 11 companies and 810 volunteers participated in the beach cleanup activity at Shalun Beach in Wanli District, New Taipei City. They collected 733 kilograms of marine debris, highlighting the plastic waste and pollution in marine ecosystems caused by humans. Only by reducing plastic usage at the source and implementing plastic reduction behaviors in daily life, starting from every individual on Earth and educating society, can we enhance global environmental impact.

On the morning of World Earth Day, staff from both buildings gathered to travel to the beach by bus. This not only reduced energy consumption from individual driving and carbon dioxide emissions, it also emphasized environmentally friendly, energy-saving, and low-carbon sustainable transportation.
